History

As one of Invardia's oldest currently standing colleges, the building's architecture is reminiscent of the Claimes era of Invardia. During this time, Invardia was just beginning their upward expansion to build a city across the Founding Stones. To facilitate this, Invardia required a series of structures constructed for the purpose of the transportation of goods from the ground into the sky. This was a laborious process, one that took many years, especially early on as the infrastructure had yet to be properly established. Nulibria Academy initially was not a school of any sort, but was a hub for the transportation of goods. It wasn't until the Nulibria-Invai bridge and the Nulibria-Castribial bridge had finished construction and the foundations for the Nulibria district were well underway that the hub would be converted into an academy, as there were finally enough would-be students for it to be feasible.

The visionary who would orchestrate this conversion was Epum Malstrig, an engineer responsible for integrating much of the latest technology at the time. He would go on to be Nulibria Academy's first chancellor, crafting a curriculum which favored the utilization of the technology already present there.

Once the conversion concluded, the academy was inundated with applications - so many so that they decided to quickly expand on the school over the next year and half to accommodate. It was a laborious process, and one with many woes, but in the end it worked in the favor of the college. Over the next few decades, the school underwent several additional expansions, most of which being related to integrating more of the latest technologies into the curriculum.

Over the years, Nulibria Academy has undergone many changes.

The Leakage Incident

There have been a number of controversies surrounding the academy, namely that of the Nulibria Leakage incident. The Nulibria Leakage was caused by a faulty Mana infusion, causing a chain of events that made Mana stored in a variety of slabs lose integrity and start to leak their Mana, which would combine in undesirable ways, causing untold effects on the slab repository beneath the academy. The issue quickly gained traction in the news, spreading all across Invardia as an ongoing crisis that millions would regularly keep up with.

After only a few days, the Nulibria Academy's Board of Directors came to the decision that rather than putting people at risk to deal with the crisis directly, they would seal off the repository completely. They also created openings for so-called "keepers", or individuals who would be set to watch the seals day in and day out.

This move was controversial not only among those who attended the academy, but also among the public at large. Over the next three days, from dawn to dusk, protestors stood outside the main hall of the academy. To appease and quell the overwhelming outcry of their student populous, the Nulibria Academy's Board of Directors held a hearing, which concluded with the Board appointing their top Mana Smiths and Mana Casters with cleaning up the mess. It was tedious and dangerous work, nearly claiming the lives of several of those involved, but they ultimately reclaimed the repository.

Chancellors

The Chancellor of Nulibria Academy is in charge of a broad range of topics, from overseeing management of the property and its wellness, to being in charge of the enrollment of students and ensuring the professors have all the resources they need to instruct their students. They oversee finances, distributing what the Board of Directors gives them as needed.

Epum Malstrig

Epum Malstrig passed away but a few years ago, nearly a decade after stepping down as chancellor.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors oversee the broad strokes of Nulibria Academy. Their goal is to manage finances and their public image, enstating rules and the like to best ensure that whomever is currently enrolled at the academy will follow through on their investment.
